July, 2010 Hello everyone, I must say this past spring from February to June has felt like pre-Katrina booking levels. The number of events have been outstanding and I attribute this boost to a fantastic win at the Superbowl by our great New Orleans Saints and the election of a new spectacular Mayor; Mitch Landrieu, who really has shown thus far he has our city and all residents at heart. We have had yet another major set back with a horrible oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico as seen all over the news ... but please remember that the gulf is over 90 miles away from New Orleans and oil can not get up the river very easily!!! ... so, please continue to book your conferences, meetings and events in New Orleans. The New Orleans Spice(r) jazz and brass band is no longer working with New Orleans Paddlewheels or the Creole Queen where we provided duos and trios. We are promoting a full five to seven piece band for events to really give our guests a true feel of New Orleans Jazz. Please contact us for more information on a custom event where we provide the best New Orleans Jazz in a classy, upscale setting. The Garden District trio is about to release a number of "Live" recordings available online (download) this August. Please visit www.nogdo.com for more details. Thank you for supporting New Orleans and helping us move forward through our many set backs.
May, 2007 Dear Fiends, Many of our band members are back in New Orleans and we have been performing regularly on the Creole Queen Paddlewheeler. Many of the private parade functions for weddings and corporate events have begun to come back. We are in dire need of more tourists and corporate events. Plain and simple, small companies such as mine thrive with the tourist and convention market. The negative publicity on crime in the city is just that - negative publicity. The problem areas are in the residential suburbs where drugs are being distributed and sold ... just the same as any other city in the world. The tourist areas (French Quarter, Central Business District, Convention Center, Warehouse District, Uptown, Garden District and others) where we perform are just as safe as any other tourist area in any major city. We need your help and assistance to support the economy by coming to visit and having your trade show, conventions and corporate events take place in New Orleans. Thank you for your continued support and we hope to see you in New Orleans.
November, 2005 Dear Friends, Hello and thank you for visiting the New Orleans Spice jazz band site. We certainly appreciate all the emails and support from all our friends worldwide. Right now all we can say is what a mess! We will rebuild and move forward in the city we love and we are trying our best to get through this tremendously tough situation as best as possible. Most of my band members are still scattered throughout the country in Houston, Atlanta, Memphis, San Francisco, Chicago, Seattle and other locations. A number of us are still in the surrounding New Orleans area and we are performing! As of May, 2006 The Creole Queen is now scheduling the regular dinner jazz cruises and we are performing from 7:00 to 10:00pm as needed. Please let us know if there are any performances out of town that we can be considered for. I am trying my best to keep New Orleans musicians working and performing and we are available to fly in for performances worldwide. My main telephone service is now working with call forwarding to my cell phone. 504-283-3786 office
